Benefits of Branding
-
Cohesive branding instantly adds credibility to your business as it appears more professional, well-established, dependable, and trustworthy. Being associated with these attributes attracts more clients/customers, press opportunities, and sets you apart from the competition.
-
When your dream clients interact with your brand, you want every piece of your branding to result in them saying “finally, I’m in the right place. This business is the solution to my problem.” Strategic branding is relevant and resonates with the right customers aka your ideal clients.
-
A strong brand identity ensures your company shows up consistently in every situation. Whether that’s online or offline, your visual identity is hard at work building brand recognition, recall, and awareness. Fun fact: customers are more likely to buy from businesses that they’re familiar with.
-
Media outlets cover businesses and founders that are experts in their field, professional in all settings, and have a strong brand identity. Strong visual branding communicates your values and sets your company up to get noticed by journalists in your industry.
-
If you’re struggling to command premium pricing for your products and services, it’s worth reviewing your branding. Strong brands have the power to command premium prices over weak brands.
The Design Process
-
We’ll begin the design process with a discovery call (typically 20-30 minutes). It’s a great chance to meet, discuss your brand vision, a suitable timeline, and answer any questions about the process.
-
Once you’ve completed the first invoice, we’ll jump on an in-depth brand questionnaire call (typically 45-60 minutes) that dives into your ideal client, mission and values, competitors, and business goals.
-
Based on all the information gathered, I’ll design three strategic brand concepts for your review. We’ll discuss which concept is the best option for your business.
-
At this stage, I’ll refine the chosen concept with any revisions you may have. You’re welcome to send your revisions via email or we can schedule call - which ever feedback style works for you!
-
Once all revisions are incorporated, you’ll provide final approval. If you’ve opted for any brand collateral add-ons, I’ll begin creating those. Following this, I’ll begin exporting all files and putting together your brand guide. The final invoice will be completed at this stage of the process.
-
I’ll deliver all of your logo files and brand guidelines booklet. You’re ready to launch!
Your business has a brand, whether you manage it or not.
Branding Vocabulary
-
Your primary logo is the main logo you will use to represent your brand. It is the most elaborate and detailed logo variation that can include location info, year of establishment and an illustration. Minimalist logos tent to omit added information and opt to only include the business name.
-
Your secondary logo is a rearranged version of your primary logo. It is used in the event that your primary logo isn’t legible, often due to space limitations. For example, if your primary logo is oriented vertically, it’s important that you also have a version that suits horizontal spaces.
-
Your submark logo is a less detailed version of your primary logo that is used when the primary and secondary logos aren’t necessary but you’d still like to keep your branding consistent. For example, a proposal will have your primary logo on the cover sheet but a bit redundant to have it on subsequent pages. The submark logo is useful on those subsequent pages to keep your branding consistent.
-
Sometimes referred to as a browser icon, favicons are mini logos displayed next to a page's title in browser tabs. For an example, look at the browser tab of this webpage and you’ll notice a black circle with my logo. Its purpose is to make your site recognizable among a sea of browser tabs.
-
I’ll put together a strategic color palette for your business (typically 4-6 colors). Your color palette should be a mix of primary colors, secondary colors, and neutrals.
-
A typography system is fundamental to any brand. I’ll pair fonts that work well together for primary headings, subheadings, tertiary headings and paragraph text.

I recommend noting how you plan to use your logo and then reviewing the brand packages listed above. It’s important to have an idea of which package suits your business best. Once you do, send me an email and we’ll book a discovery call to discuss further!
